MessiahKids and Messiah Students (2018-2019)

September 9th, 2018

Ages 0 - 5th Grade and 6th - 8th Grade

MessiahKids and Messiah Students meet on Sunday mornings from 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
Parents, please prayerfully consider volunteering as a small group leader for one of the MessiahKids classes. The relationship between a small group leader and their kids is an important one, and we know that you will also be blessed by serving!
The curriculum that we will use for MessiahKids is Orange. This includes the Infants and Toddlers, the 2 year olds, the Early Childhood rooms, and the Elementary Grades. The Orange curriculum is designed for the church and the parents to partner in nurturing the spiritual development of their children. Each month brings a new theme, and a Bible verse to focus on for the month.

Messiah’s 6th - 8th Graders will be using XP3 Middle School curriculum from Orange. This curriculum "exists to help middle schoolers experience three things: wonder for who God is, discovery of who He created them to be, and passion for loving others." We are excited for the impact of this new Bible study material for our students. Any parents who would like to join us as a discussion facilitator, please contact Renee Borgmann or Ryan Pfendler.

God has blessed us with a group of kids who are eager to learn about His love and His Word! As a small group leaders, you would be connected with a group of 4 – 7 children,

to share your love of Jesus with them, and to show and tell of God’s amazing grace for them. You will be an important part of connecting these kids to Jesus – our firm foundation!

The lesson material is prepped and sent to you each week, and we take care of gathering the supplies.

Take the opportunity to remember the kids in your group in your prayers daily, asking the Holy Spirit to keep their hearts and minds firmly planted in God and His Word.

Your job would be to

  • familiarize yourself with the lesson prior to Sunday morning

  • greet our kids with a smile,

  • bring them to the large group where they will hear the Bible story for the day

  • work with them through the small group activities that have been selected to go with the story for the day.

You will have a back-up person for your group that you can call on if there is a Sunday when you will not be able to be here,

Or if your schedule needs a little more flexibility, I can pair you up to share a group with another small group leader so that you each will be leading twice a month.

Thank you for signing up to be a small group leader! I pray that you are blessed beyond measure as you serve!

Sunday Morning Women's Bible Class

September 9th, 2018

Women: Unglued: Making wise choices in the midst of raw emotions
God gave us emotions to experience life, not destroy it! Lysa TerKeurst admits that she, like most women, has had experiences where others bump into her happy and she comes emotionally unglued. We stuff, we explode, or we react somewhere in between. What do we do with these raw emotions? Is it really possible to make emotions work for us instead of against us? Yes, and in her usual inspiring and practical way, Lysa will show you how. Filled with gut-honest personal examples and biblical teaching, Unglued will equip you to: Know with confidence how to resolve conflict in your important relationships. Find peace in your most difficult relationships as you learn to be honest but kind when offended. Identify what type of reactor you are and how to significantly improve your communication. Respond with no regrets by managing your tendencies to stuff, explode, or react somewhere in between. Gain a deep sense of calm by responding to situations out of your control without acting out of control. If you have any questions, please contact Natalie Kuliczkowski at natler1@hotmail.com

Kings Kids (2018/2019)

September 12th - May 8th, 2019

Kings Kids is on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 - 8:15. The cost is $10 for new students and $5 for returning students (please bring payment on the first night of class). King’s Kids is a Bible class for children in grades 1-6 who attend public school or are homeschooled. We study Bible stories, discuss the catechism, and memorize scripture and parts of the catechism. This is a great class to take before confirmation classes to get familiar with the materials that you will be building on in confirmation! King’s Kids uses a small group/large group format. We break into grade-level small groups to do our Bible study. To discuss the catechism connection, we come back together into one large group.
